curtain
at the fulton station (brooklyn not manhattan!)
Curtain (2020) was a project in which I created a classic red velvet theatre curtain and hung it in front of the new electronic advertisement panels in the Fulton Street G station. The piece invited viewers to choose whether or not to keep it open and recieve the flashing advertisements or close it. The curtain addressed the question of consent to advertising and screen time in an increasingly screen-heavy public infrastructure. The curtain was up for one evening and disappeared the next day.
